Appointed Persons in the workplace (Half Day) Northamptonshire
The ideal qualification for small businesses and organisations or indeed for an individual required to act as additional cover for medium to large organisations where HSE guidelines or the organisation’s risk assessment deem that a first aider is not required.
Essentially for low risk environments of less than 25 employees or high-risk environments of less than 5 employees
The Appointed Persons in the Workplace provides delegates/students with the basic understanding of first aid requirements and basic treatments and meets HSE guidelines of 2013 as well as requirements of First Aid at Work Regulations 1981.
The 1stAiders Appointed Person first aid course is perfectly suited to be adapted as a bespoke first aid in the workplace course to suit a a defined audience, as in a particular business or industry.
The course is run for 3 hours and includes both theory and practical sessions within an informal atmosphere, designed to promote confidence.

Appointed Persons Assessment & Certification
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student, there is no exam. Only students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years.

Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day)
The EFAW course is ideal for those where a risk assessment indicates that first aid training covering emergency protocols only is sufficient in their workplace, It is a one-day course designed to help you meet the regulatory requirements.
Where your first aid requirements or risk assessment stipulates that you must have a qualified emergency first aider in the workplace, the EFAW course will provide all of the training that is required along with a first aid certificate valid for 3 years. The course meets all necessary guidelines and the qualification is recognised by the HSE (Health and Safety Executive).
Meeting the HSE obligations is one thing, but with our training, you will be well equipped to use the knowledge, skills and of course the confidence to deal with a wide range of emergency situations, whether they are minor injuries or indeed life-threatening incidents.
With the 1stAiders emergency first aid at work course, you, your staff, and colleagues will be able to act fast and administer the right treatment decisively in the event of an emergency situation where every second count.
EFAW Course Content
Our emergency first aid course covers the following topics:
- Aims and principles of first aid
- What to do in an emergency
- Basic Life Support (CPR & basic use of an AED)
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
- Choking
- Assessment and treatment of burns
- Assessment and treatment of miscellaneous medical conditions
- Record keeping
Course Certificate
Upon successful completion of the multiple-choice question paper and practical exercises, each learner will receive an HSE approved and nationally recognised Emergency First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years.

First Aid at Work Course (3 day)
This 3-day first aid at work training course content is recommended by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Upon completion, this makes you, your staff or colleagues a fully qualified first aider, along with the skills and confidence to deal with an emergency situation.
It meets the standards required to comply with health and safety (first aid) regulations and complies with Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations and the approved code of practice L74 guidelines for the qualification of workplace first aiders.
First Aid at Work Course (3 day) Course Content
This 3-day course alongside expert tutoring provides practical exercises to give students/delegates in-depth training including:
- Anaphylaxis
- Assessing and treating wounds & bleeds

FAW Course Certificate
Upon successful completion of the multiple-choice question paper and practical exercises, each learner will receive an HSE approved and nationally recognised FAW First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years.
