There are FIFTEEN modules in the course, each being delivered via email following the completed questions of the previous. This means, you receive Module 1, then the question sheet. Once we received your answers, we send Module two and so-on.

The following is a list of the modules.Module 1. When to call a vet
There will be instances when you need to make a quick decision as to whether or when you should take the cate to the vet. This module is probably the most important because it covers most eventualities and guides you as to whether or when to call a vet immediately, during thesame day or withing 24 hours. The range is vast and deals with incidents such as fits and seizures, drowning, choking etc. – Example: Abnormal urination in a male cat…. Sudden paralysis in the hind part, a cat with frostbite or heatroke, seizures, cat fights etc.
Module 2. Being prepared for a cat medical emergency
Starting with your first aid kit for cats and putting together your rapid response action plan including dealing with your vet in an emergency.
Module 3. Top to tail examination
Learning where to look, what to look for, knowing signs and indications that things may not be right, and what to do.
Module 4. Knowing a cat’s vital signs
There are two reasons why you need to know a cats vital signs, one is so you know when things are not right with the health of the cat but the second is to provide your vet with this vital information. Handing over a client’s cat to the vet professionally is crucial and displays your competence to the vet, which is likely to result in more business for you!Module 5. Heart, circulation and Respiratory system
The heart being the pump or engine to maintain blood flow, feeding and maintaining vital organs is crucial to the cat’s life.
Here you will gain knowledge about the heart’s job, how it works and what to due when things go wrong – this module also covers shock.
What happens when a cat breathes in, what does that air do?, what happens when a cat stops breathing? and what to do. What does rapid or slow breathing mean?
Module 6. Types of wounds
Undertanding the various types of wounds not only helps you treat them to promote recovery but also helps you communicate better with your vet in passing on important informaton.
Module 7. Bleeding and infection control
Bandages and dressings, what to use, what not to use, cleaning a wound, preventing infection are all crucial to reducing pain and preventing further injury.
Module 8. Bites and stings
Wasps and bees, cats, dogs and other animals as well as snakes can cause tremendous harm to your cat and even a small puncture wound as a result of a bite could result in death, so learning how to deal with bites and stings in cats.
Module 9. Muscles and Bones
Fractures and sprains. When bones and muscles come under severe impact, they can disabilitate a cat, sometimes for life. Rapid response with first aid treatment can not only reduce pain but also prevent deformity.
Module 10. Poisoning, Stomach and Digestive

Module 13. Electric shock.
Electric shock might be more likey to happen with kittens and young cats if they chew on electric cables. However other possible incidents even in mature cats include faulty wiring, live garden equipment cables, broken electrical circuits and, lightning strikes during thunderstorms.
Module 14. Ticks.
Ticks can carry diseases and a cat can transport disease-carrying ticks into your home where they might attach themselves to you or your family members. Ticks spread diseases which, in some cases, can be very serious.
Module 15. Feline Diseases
Cats are prone to a number of specific feline illnesses. It is always better to knowing what the indications are and how to determine the best, most effective treatment. Even simple issues like viruses and worms.
