Why Cats and Dogs First Aid together?
First aid is the immediate care given to a pet who has been injured or is suddenly taken ill. The vast majority of first aid treatment is universal and matters not whether we are treating a cat, dog, rabbit or any other furry friend but there are differenes in areas such as CPR, as much as there are differences in CPR depending on breed and size, so there is no reason to dedicate a first aid course just for dogs or just for cats …they can sit together
Minimum of three hours.

What is the course content?
Those vital moments prior to getting to a vet can save your cat or dogs life.
Although accidents and events happen instantly and without warning, an illness may been present for some time but only discovered and suddenly become an emergency.
Cats and dogs cannot communicate verbally and explain how they feel or what has happened to them. However they do have indications and signs that may reveal vital information that could help you to determine a course of action.
Is your cat or dog breathing?
Is its heart beating?
Is it bleeding?
Is its temperature normal?
Is it behaving abnormally?
Would you know how to administer first aid, including CPR on a cat or dog?
Can you treat a badly cut and bleeding paw?
If your cat or dog is injured as a result of a fight, would you be confident enough to provide emergency first aid prior to taking the pet to your vet?
Should you move them and risk spinal injury?

Dealing with severe bleeding and nasty broken bones. Deep puncture wounds and embedded objects.
No matter how calm and friendly a dog is under normal conditions, when in pain and distressed they will bite! so we will deal with handling this situation.
- The course is approximately four hours with a half hour break and costs £50 per person.
We have a selection of nasty traumatic training aids that represent incisions, lacerations, puncture wounds, stabbings, embedded objects, open fractures, bites and stings, ulcers etc.
These are designed to assist in training to treat and bandage wounds prior to taking the animal to the vet.
Our first aid cat and dog first aid courses are about managing a scene, treating an injured animal and getting to the vets as fast as possible.
Delivering an injured animal to a vet in a far better condition that if no first aid has been used is the prime objection.
